N2K 2019 Biographies

Jude Blalack

Jude Blalack, 12, is the son of Charles and Elizabeth Blalack of Chicago, Illinois. He attends a Classical Conversations community and has two older brothers and two younger sisters. His favorite school subject is science. Jude also enjoys juggling, riding his unicycle, working in his woodshop and collecting coins.

Evangeline Crabtree

Evangeline Crabtree, 12, is the daughter of Andrew and Hannah Crabtree of San Jose, California. She is homeschooled and has six siblings. Her favorite school subjects are math and science. Evangeline enjoys ballet, swimming, sewing, and participating in church youth group, American Heritage Girls and the San Jose Math Circle.

Suzannah DiPiazza

Suzannah DiPiazza, 12, is the daughter of Michael and Rebekka DiPiazza of Allendale, Michigan. She attends a Classical Conversations community and has four siblings. Her favorite school subjects are science and math. Suzannah also enjoys playing softball, cross-country running, swimming and hanging out with friends. Her sister Sophia won the N2K Championship in 2016, and her brother, John, won in 2018.

Ian Dow

Ian Dow, 12, is the son of JB and Charlene Dow of Palatine, Illinois. He attends a Classical Conversations community and has three younger siblings. His favorite school subjects are cartography and math. Ian also enjoys playing basketball, practicing Taekwondo, and playing the piano.

Jakin Epp

Jakin Epp, 12, is the son of Dalane and Hannah Epp of York, Nebraska. He attends a Classical Conversations community and has three siblings. His favorite school subjects are math and writing. Jakin also enjoys playing baseball, reading and playing with Legos.

Kyle Gamotis

Kyle Gamotis, 14, is the son of Brian and Heather Gamotis of Graham, Washington. He attends a Classical Conversations community and has two brothers. His favorite school subjects are math and debate. Kyle also enjoys playing soccer and solving Rubik’s Cube.

Alice Margaret Haeske

Alice Haeske, 13, is the daughter of Judy and Larry Haeske of Woodbridge, Virginia. She has two younger brothers and attends a public school. Her favorite school subjects are math, orchestra and science. She swims for the Occoquan Swim Club and has qualified for the 2019 Junior National swim championship. She was also a 2018 Junior Olympics swim finalist in short and long course.

Zecharias Hall

Zecharias Hall, 13, is the son of Nancy and John Hall of Chicago, Illinois. He attends a Classical Conversations community. His favorite school subjects are science, history and math. Zecharias also enjoys playing baseball, Rubik’s Cube, reading, and participating in his church youth group.

Erik Hill

Erik Hill, 11, is the son of Kirsten and Tony Hill of Rochester, Minnesota. He has three siblings and is homeschooled. His favorite school subjects are math and science. Erik also enjoys math clubs, parkour class, board games, and playing Pokémon. He is on the set-up team for church.

Jack Manion

Jack Manion, 12, is the son of Thomas and Allison Manion of Woodbridge, Virginia. He attends a public school and has two younger siblings. His favorite school subjects are math, science, Spanish, social studies and PE. Jack also enjoys playing basketball, swimming, reading, playing video games and hanging out with friends.

Katrina Michael

Katrina Michael, 14, is the daughter of Alex and Cassie Michael of Clearfield, Utah. She is homeschooled and has five siblings. Her favorite school subjects are math, debate and political science. Katrina loves drawing, animals, horseback riding and hiking. She also enjoys playing N2K with her friends. She recently went to a winter camp where they played N2K until 2 a.m.!

Joshua Oh

Joshua Oh, 11, is the son of Jane and Jeff Oh of Palos Verdes Peninsula, California. He is homeschooled and has two siblings. His favorite school subjects are science, math and history. Joshua also enjoys fencing and reading.

Joshua Lee Petersen

Joshua Petersen, 13, is the son of Benjamin and Veronique Petersen of Garner, North Carolina. He has three younger siblings and attends a Classical Conversations community. His favorite school subjects are math and reading. Joshua also enjoys playing N2K, Dungeons & Dragons, board games and the piano.

Jeremy Sigmon

Jeremy Sigmon, 13, is the son of Doug and Laurina Sigmon of Raleigh, North Carolina. He attends a Classical Conversations community and has two younger siblings. His favorite school subject is “math, of course!” Jeremy also loves basketball and spending time with friends. He recently ran his first triathlon and enjoys volunteer at church with the preschool class.

Ivy Tschetter

Ivy Tschetter, 13, is the daughter of Jeff Tschetter of White Bear Lake, Minnesota. She has five siblings and is homeschooled. Her favorite school subjects are speech, math, art and physical education. Ivy loves to play Pickleball and draw, particularly animals. She also enjoys singing and helps lead children’s worship services at church.

Tyler Turner

Tyler Turner, 14, is the son of Janice and Clark Turner of Marietta, Georgia. He is homeschooled and has two older siblings. His favorite school subjects are math and science. Tyler also enjoys swimming, competitive speaking and playing the violin.
