Steven Christie, 11, is the son of Mike and Debbie Christie of Plantation, Florida, where he is a member of a Classical Conversations community. He has three older siblings. Math is Steven’s favorite school subject, and he also enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee®, ping-pong and soccer. He also sings each week in his church’s youth choir.
Andrew Crabtree, 13, is the son of Andrew and Hannah Crabtree of San Jose, California. He attends a charter school and has six younger siblings. Andrew’s favorite subjects in school are math and physical education. He enjoys playing soccer and swimming, plays the trumpet and is active in his church youth group and school geography club.
John DiPiazza, 13, is the son of Michael and Rebekka DiPiazza of Allendale, Michigan. John is homeschooled and has two older sisters and two younger sisters. His favorite school subject is history, and he also enjoys wrestling.
Cameron Feikema, 12, is the son of David and Heather Feikema of Sarasota, Florida. He is homeschooled and has five older siblings. His favorite school subjects are literature and math, and he enjoys riding BMX bikes and doing things with his church youth group.
Madeline Freund, 13, is the daughter of Guy and Bethany Freund of Katy, Texas. Maddy attends a charter school and has an older sister and a younger brother. Math is Maddy’s favorite school subject, and she also enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, playing outside, board games and church activities.
Kyle Gamotis, 13, is the son of Brian and Heather Gamotis of Graham, Washington. He has a younger brother and is a member of a Classical Conversations community in Washington. Kyle’s favorite school subjects are math and English. He also enjoys playing soccer, going to AWANA and working Rubik’s cubes.
Alice Haeske, 12, is the daughter of Larry and Judith Haeske of Woodbridge, Virginia. She attends public school and has two younger brothers. Alice’s favorite school subjects are science and math, and she plays viola in the school orchestra. She is an avid swimmer and has qualified for the Junior Olympics in the breaststroke on March 13-16 at the University of Maryland.
Zecharias Hall, 12, is the son of John and Nancy Hall of Chicago, Illinois. He attends a Classical Conversations community. His favorite school subjects are history and science. Zecharias also enjoys playing baseball and dodgeball, woodworking and reading.

Emma Lamb, 11, is the daughter of Doug and Jennifer Lamb of Cary, North Carolina. Emma has three older and two younger siblings and attends a Classical Conversations community. Her favorite school subjects are math, literature, writing and science. Emma also enjoys swim team, martial arts, contemporary ballet/jazz dance, American Heritage Girls, AWANA, and playing the piano.
Katrina Michael, 13, is the daughter of Alex and Cassie Michael of Clearfield, Utah. She is homeschooled and has five siblings, one older and four younger. Her favorite school subjects are math, art and zoology. Katrina’s hobbies include horseback riding, crocheting and hiking. She also helped teach math and N2K to other students in her homeschool co-op this year.
Lucas Nowak, 11, is the son of John Mark and Amanda Sue Nowak of Rochester, Minnesota. He has two sisters and is homeschooled. Lucas’s favorite school subjects are math and literature. He also enjoys robotics, engineering, cycling, N2K, camping, video games and playing with friends.
Grace Parish, 14, is the daughter of Jerry and Carla Parish of Morgan, Utah. She is homeschooled and has an older brother. Grace’s favorite school subjects are anatomy, math and history. She also enjoys riding horses, dance, choir, musical theater, ice skating, youth group, Pony Club, snowboarding and skiing.
Joshua Petersen, 12, is the son of Benjamin and Veronique Petersen of Garner, North Carolina. He has three younger siblings and attends a Classical Conversations community. Joshua’s favorite school subjects are math, reading and writing. He also enjoys computer programming, reading books, playing board games and Minecraft, playing the piano, and hanging out with his siblings.
Jeremy Sigmon, 12, is the son of Doug and Laurina Sigmon of Raleigh, North Carolina. He attends a Classical Conversations community in Raleigh and has a younger brother and sister. Jeremy’s favorite school subject is math (of course!), but he also enjoys science. He loves playing basketball and performs with a local theatre group. He is also a worship leader for his church’s children’s ministry.
Ivy Tschetter, 12, is the daughter of Jeff and Dana Tschetter of White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Ivy is homeschooled and has two older and two younger siblings. Her favorite school subjects are writing, N2K (naturally) and physical education. She also enjoys writing stories, tennis, sewing drawing and singing in children’s choir.
Tyler Turner, 13, is the son of Clark and Janice Turner of Marietta, Georgia. He is homeschooled and has two older brothers. His favorite school subjects are math and physical science. Tyler also enjoys swimming, playing the violin and competitive speaking.
